One main area of research in our lab focuses on elucidating the function and regulation of the mammalian 12h oscillator.
Another area of research is using the 12h-oscillator as a discovery tool to unveil hidden principles of proteostasis and mRNA metabolism. Using this approach, we recently uncovered a pivotal role of nuclear speckles in proteostasis control.
We hypothesize that the dysregulation of 12h rhythms of proteostasis and mRNA metabolism (genetic information flow) is a driver of aging and aging-related diseases. We like to know how and why.
Last but not the least, if you have great ideas, we would like to hear about it!
